27 September 2009 - Apprenticeship Wanted
I am currently seeking a beekeeping apprenticeship in New Zealand; I am originally from England and I arrived here recently on a working holiday visa specifically for this purpose.
My father kept hives when I was young and my long running adoration of bees and honey, with a particular interest in Manuka and its highly lauded healing properties, have led to my coming to New Zealand solely to pursue this line of interest.
I am also an artist and my current practise is engaged with flight patterns, mapping of animal movement/migration/behaviour patterns, and particularly looking at that of bees.
If you would like to contact me in regards to an apprenticeship or for information on my employment history my details are below.

4 September 2009 - Employment Wanted!
Hello!
We are a fun, and energetic beekeeping couple from the US. We are looking for contacts with New Zealand beekeepers for seasonal employment. We are interested in working bees during our winter months, and are open anytime from November through March.
We are are in our early thirties, and have no children, and are easy to please! We currently own 60 hives, which we run in conjunction with our family's bee business, Opp Honey Inc. Our bees are in North Dakota in the summer, where Opp Honey is home-based, and in California for almond pollination in the winter. We are also employed by Opp Honey for the North Dakota honey season and for spring hive maintenance and re-queening in California. Tina has worked bees for Opp Honey for 19 years, and Jason has been more recently introduced, but has quickly taken to beekeeping. Our winter home is the Washington coast, where Jason owns and operates a portable sawmill for custom lumber milling, and Tina is a ceramic artist and potter.
We have heard great things about New Zealand, and are excited to learn about New Zealand beekeeping methods and to increase our beekeeping community.
Do you know of any beekeepers that may be interested in us? Feel free to give them our contact information, or please send us their information!
